It’s finally warm enough to sit in the front room in the mornings. We haven’t done this in ages.

This was two days ago. It’s much too cold to sit by the window today. This house is nearly a hundred years old, and I suspect the windows are almost as old — if not as old — as the house itself. On a windy day, the blinds actually flutter when the windows are closed.
One of the things I failed to take into account when I decided to move from an apartment to a (very old) house were utility bills. I am not a practical person by nature; I am impulsive, intuitive — and it is sometimes a costly way to be.
Nevertheless, I am happy we are here.
