David Garza | Just the Bass

Listening to West Whim’s trntbl.me on shuffle while cleaning & this song came up. I had forgotten — I’m in it. Sort of.

…at right around 1:00, you can hear the microphone drop — it nearly fell into David’s lap while he was singing & playing. I jumped for it & ended up holding it in place for the rest of the song. It was an intimate performance & my microphone holding has now been immortalized in song.

“Gin and Juice,” The Gourds, Damn, It’s 2 Early: More Music from the Dudley & Bob Show, KLBJ FM

It’s 92° here in Austin, TX & in honor of this record breaking temperature I’m breaking out one of the most excellent live performances ever from our show.

Have a great weekend, y’all.

Ben Kweller | Wantin’ Her Again

Matt the Electrician | Accidental Thief

From last week’s year end show, w/ Scrappy Jud Newcomb; mm, dobro.

Thanks, Daniel!

This photo deserves its own post — it’s my favorite from this morning.

Here are a few more photos from this morning’s show — last live one of the year! It featured music from Jeff Lofton, Matt the Electrician (w/ Scrappy Jud Newcomb), Ben Kweller & James McMurtry.

Happy holidays, y’all. I don’t have to set an alarm again until January 4.

Bob Schneider | 2002

Okay, here’s the song he was playing when I photographed him this morning.

ETA: Ha! I put this up before listening to it all the way thru — that tiny little clap you hear at the end is me!

Terri Hendrix w/ Lloyd Maines | Slow Down

Live performance from this morning’s show. They’ll be at the Cactus Cafe Saturday night. Lloyd was sitting next to me while they played & I couldn’t help but notice how much his daughter Natalie looks like him! I told him so when we were off the air and he agreed that, yes, she certainly does:

They have the same eyes, nose & mouth!
