He was just a kid himself.
party at our house, c. 1960s
This was sometime between ‘66-‘68, those are the new years eves we spent in Houston. That’s my mom in yellow and she is talking to the fantastically dressed & coiffed woman who has her back to us — I imagine her name to be Jacqueline and she lives in a fancy town house. My mom’s friend Ricky is wearing blue & she’s the only person I really know in this pic.
Suits! Men wore suits.
See those tiny black bits on the ceiling? You can really see them there but they’re all over the picture, really. Those are the little bastards that drive the perfectionist part of my brain nuts. But I don’t have the time (or patience) to clean up old photos these days.
Nice view, Greece, 1975
More pics from the big summer vacation of ‘75. I’m wearing my pukka shells, grey corduroy hip huggers and the Adidas shoe that all the kids at the Singapore American School were wearing that year.
I remember all of the clothes that we have on in these pics so well. Probably because we wore the same three outfits for six weeks.
Rifle, CO, mid-sixties
My dad took this while on a business trip. He was there reviewing a joint venture shale-oil recovery project, which he says wasn’t viable at the time. (My dad worked in the oil bidness.)
I cropped, straightened and cleaned hundreds of scratches off this one. And then I put a frame on it.
Midland, TX, c. 1967
This is my favorite picture of myself from when I was a kid.
I was so hot!
It was summertime! C’mon.
EnglandSwitzerland in 1975
England was the last leg of a six-week family vacation that had previously included stops in Thailand, Greece, Italy & Switzerland. We traveled together on planes, trains & automobiles and stayed in hostels, B&Bs, & the occasional hotel/motel.
It’s probably safe to say we despised each other by the end of the trip.
Edit: My dad says this is in Switzerland. He would know since he took it!
